Location: Carlow West, especially Old Leighlin
A hymn in praise of one of the great local saints.
The recording was made at Easter 2019, sung by the choir of St. Lazerian's cathedral at the annual celebration of the saint's feastday.
Verses 3 and 4 were recently added by Dave Barron.

O great St. Lazerian, we come here today
To honour thy name and to thee homage pay.
As we walk in the way where thy footsteps have trod
We beg thee to guide us and lead us to God.
O great St. Lazerian, O great St. Lazerian
We pray thee to guide us and lead us to God.

O thou wert chosen as father and guide,
Be still our protector what e’er may betide.
O strengthen our faith that we e’er may be true
To the faith of our fathers, to God and to you.
O strengthen our faith, O strengthen our faith
And lead us, thy children, to God and to you.

You taught us Respect for our God and for others,
In Christ’s Way all people are sisters and brothers;
We’ve lost that Respect in this sad world today:
Save us from Mammon and the greed of his way;
The greed of today, the stress of today:
Save us from Mammon and the greed of his way.

Well praised for the peace that you led long ago
When you set Easter’s date between Celtic and Rome,
We need you again now, together we pray:
Unite all true Christians in Christ’s sacred Way;
To Christ’s sacred Way, in Christ’s sacred Way,
Unite all true Christians in Christ’s sacred Way.
