Tá ceol an spideog lán le spiorad
In aghaidh an Geimhreadh fuar is garbh,
I mbéal an stoirm is gaoithe searbh
Tá geall an aimsir deas le teacht.
Is guth an londubh fógra an Earraigh,
Laethanta deas ag teacht ar ais;
Aoibhinn do Fionn, is aoibhinn dúinn,
A ghuth binn ón mbrainse luath.
Is guth an cuach ceol an tSamhraidh,
Guth an aimsir geal, brothallach,
Cith beag te, torthaí sócúlach
Is barraí lán le sú go rúta.
Is guth an fáinleog guth an Fhomhair,
Le clabaireacht roimh an turas mór
Ag lorg an grian I dtíre te
Ag éalú ó’n aimsir seaca.
Tá guth an spideog do’n bhliain uilig,
Is cuma léi maith no olc;
Ag spreagadh muid bheith dóchasach
Le grá, le sách, is le misneach,
Le grá, le sách, is le misneach.

When Robin sings its fiery breast
Defies wild Winter to try its worst:
In Yuletide storm and icy gale
It says good days will come again.
The Blackbird sings when Springtime’s near
To say warm days are drawing near;
It thrilled great Fionn, it thrills us now
With twilight song upon the bough.
The Cuckoo’s call means Summer’s come
With long, warm days, bright shining sun,
Soft gentle showers, lush, juicy fruit
And crops all sap, full to the root.
Swallows twitter in Autumn dawn
To tell the world they’ll soon be gone;
They seek the sun; we wait for cold,
For frosty fields and growing old.
Red Robin sings all through the year,
Through good and bad it brings good cheer,
It tells us how, on life’s rough slope,
To live with Love, Enough and Hope.
To live with Love, Enough and Hope.

Description
Bhí ár sinsear i dtiúin le timthriallta na bliana. Anois is féidir na héin agus a gcuid amhrán a nascadh le hamanna áirithe den bhliain. Canann roinnt éan, cosúil leis an spideog, ar feadh na bliana. Ní mór dúinn am a thógáil ónár saol hectic chun éisteacht, tiúnadh isteach, agus nasc a dhéanamh arís leis an Dúlra.
Our ancestors were in tune with the cycles of the year. Now the birds and their songs can be linked to certain times of the year. Some birds, like the robin, sing all year long. We need to take time from our hectic lives to listen, tune in, and link again with Nature.
