Location: West Carlow, Barrow The title says it all: looking back at a way of life and of work that are gone, the Barrow boys are no more. The author, Kit Ennis, was a lock keeper at Tinnahinch lock (Graiguenamanagh) in the 1920s.
The reflection could be applied to thousands of wasted lives, in thousands of wars. In this case the 'casualty' was a young local man, another victim of wars made by others.
The grave is situated in Leagh cemetery, not far from Graigue, Carlow.
